Stuffed Bread Pakodas

2 Ways – Potato Stuffed and Paneer Stuffed

Stuffed Bread Pakoda is a street-style food that is popular all across India. While there are numerous ways in which this fried fritter is prepared and served, we bring to you two of the most sought after variants of this pakoda!

Ingredients

  • A Few Bread Slices (small)
  • 1 Onion – Finely Chopped
  • 2-4 Potatoes – Boiled, Peeled, and Mashed
  • 150 gm Gram Flour (besan)
  • 50 gms Cottage Cheese (paneer) – Grated
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves – Finely Chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies – Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/4 tsp Chaat Masala
  • Green Chutney
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Water As Required
  • Ambuja Gold Refined Soyabean Oil For Deep Frying – As Required

Preparing the Batter

  • In a large bowl, add the gram flour (besan) in a bowl. To it, add salt and red chilly powder and mix well.

  • Next, add 2-3 tsp Ambuja Gold Refined Soyabean Oil. This will help make the pakodas crispy.

  • Add water as required, as you keep whisking the ingredients.

  • Make sure there are no lumps, and the consistency is thick like a dosa batter.

Preparing the Potato Stuffing

  • In a Pan Heat 2 tsp Ambuja Gold Refined Soyabean Oil
  • To the oil add the chopped onions and green chillies. Cook until onions turn light brown.
  • Add salt and red chilly powder & sauté.
  • Next, add 3 the boiled mashed potatoes and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add some fresh coriander leaves.
  • Take out the mixture on a plate.

For The Paneer Stuffing

  • In a large bowl, add the grated paneer.
  • To add the chopped green chillies, black pepper powder, salt, and coriander leaves
  • Mix all the ingredients well.

For the Aloo Stuffed Bread Pakodas

  • Take a slice of bread & spread green chutney

  • On another slice of bread spread some tomato sauce

  • Spread the potato stuffing between the two slices

  • Press the slices between your hands

For the Paneer Stuffed Bread Pakodas

  • On a slice of bread spread some tomato sauce and place another slice on top of it.

  • Spread the paneer stuffing over it.

  • Place one more bread slice on top and spread green chutney over it.

  • Now place the last slice on top.

For The Frying Process

  • In a Deep Pan heat approximately 500 ml Ambuja Gold Refined Soyabean Oil.

  • Dip the potato stuffed bread in the batter.

  • Spread the batter on all 4 sides of the bread.

  • Gently put the stuffed bread in the hot oil and fry on low flame.

  • Don’t turn the Bread Pakoda for at least 1 minute.

  • After 1-2 minutes gently flip the bread as shown.

  • Fry on both sides until golden brown and crisp.

  • Now take out the Bread Pakoda on a paper towel, to remove the excess oil, if any.

  • Similarly, fry the paneer stuffed bread.

  • Cut the Pakodas diagonally before serving.

Our hot, crispy and spicy Stuffed Bread Pakodas are ready to enjoy. Sprinkle some chaat masala and serve hot with a side of tomato ketchup and spicy mint coriander chutney!
