One of the most beloved dry snacks that go well with tea or simply as midnight munchies, banana chips are a favourite in every household across India. Here’s a quick and simple recipe to prepare this amazing delight, right in your own homes!
Ingredients
- 4 Raw Bananas (Medium Sized)
- 350-400 Ml Water
- Salt As Required
- Freshly Crushed Black Pepper As Required
- Ambuja Gold Refined Soyabean Oil For Deep Frying
Instructions
Prepping the Slices
- Peel the first banana.
- Take the water in a large bowl.
- Slice the banana directly into a bowl of water using a mandoline slicer (chips maker).
- Repeat the process with the remaining bananas.
- Remove about half of the banana slices from the water and pat them dry using a clean kitchen cloth.
Frying The Banana Chips
- Heat around 300-400 ml Ambuja Gold Refined Soyabean Oil in a deep pan.
- As the oil gets hot, add dry slices of banana
- Let them cook on a medium flame.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the oil.
- Using a ladle, separate the banana chips so that they don’t stick together.
- Fry the chips until deep in colour, and crisp in texture.
- Using a deep mouth ladle, take out the fried banana chips on paper towels to remove the excess oil.
- Similarly, fry the remaining raw banana slices in batches.
- Lightly sprinkle the chips with salt and black pepper powder, and give them a good shake.
- Once cooled, place the banana chips in an airtight jar.
Our homemade banana chips are now ready to relish! You can munch on them whenever you’d like to!!
